From Our President

After a very warm summer, it is refreshing to welcome fall. It is time to start thinking about holidays and begin stitching Halloweem, Thanksgiving or Christmas projects... or perhaps finishing those UFO’s from previous years. Some of us are much better at finishing things than others.

Bring your ideas to share or get inspired with our speakers at our September meeting. Bring your enthusiasm, we hope to have a great year ahead.

We talked about fee structures for workshops at our board meeting, but didn’t come up with a decision. I met with Nancy Stephens, Vi Wicks and Irene McBride and this is a suggested fee structure we are presenting at the next board meeting. Any written comments or suggestions are welcome.

You can email them to Pat Wilson, nagorting@aol.com or send them to one of those mentioned
above.

2 hour class: $5 for members
$7 for guests
Plus a kit fee. Class size would be a minimum of 5 people, maximun to be determined by instructor.

Preregistration would be required; deadline one week before class to give the teacher time to prepare.

Our January meeting is a workshop meeting. If you are interested in teaching or have ideas for possible projects, let one of our officers know.

Hope to see you at the September General meeting.

Left-Over Threads

I thought this was a good hint from a friend, Agnes Davis, from Florida. She is a member of the Brazilian Dimensional Embroidery International Guild (BDEIG).

I usually put my left-over threads outside for the birds. They use them to make their nests. Here in Florida we create some pretty colorful nests and very happy birds.

Do you have a hint? Share themwith us. Send them to Pennie Smith or Pat Wilson via snail mail or email.

Quilters News

From Our Presindent

Ladies,

Happy 2010 to you!
While sorting through and putting away Christmas decorations, why not make a sweep through your sewing/craft areas. We offer you a great way to cull some of your clutter…

Our January meeting will include a sale of unwanted items from our stashes. Of course one can also shop and find something different to take home. All monies will go to our treasury and items not picked up after the meeting will be donated to Grannies Attic in Puyallup (which supports Good Samaritan Hospital.)

Be sure to bring LUNCH and plan to enjoy our class in the afternoon. Contact Pat Wilson if you are planning on staying for the class so she can have enough supplies on hand.

Remember, projects for our contest are due in April. If you haven’t already begun, you still have time to do so.

I look foreword to a busy day with you, January 29.

Please bring any articles you have made to display to the January 29th meeting in Puyallup so we can show off what our members have been doing this past year or so.

If you would like to have free entry into the Expo you may volunteer to hostess in our booth by contacting either Sharon (922-2629) or Joyce (565-7322) and letting us know the date and time you wish to be there.
